Unfortunately, this is not permitted. Dogs are calmer and better behaved when the owner is not around. When the owner is present, the dog is so focused on the owner that the grooming process becomes disrupted, and the risk of injury to the pet becomes greater.
Often a dog will bark and try to lunge off the table, becoming very excited with the idea of its owner coming over to pat him. This behaviour increases risk and adds a higher degree of difficulty for the groomer, who is working with sharp tools near and around the dog’s eyes and other tender body parts. The groomer must have 100% of the dog’s attention at all times, as without this, the risk of an accident will increase.
It depends on dog coat type, but usually, we recommend having a full groom each 4-6 weeks. In some cases, we can tidy the dog up every second visit.
Full grooming can take 3-4 hours. It depends on the dog’s behaviour, type of coat and condition, dog age.
